Hungarian Goulash

3lb meat

2 onions finely chopped
2 garlic cloves finely chopped

6tbls flour

2tbls paprika
1tsp caraway seeds
1 bay leaf
1/4tsp marjoram
1/4tsp thyme
pinch of cayenne

1lb button mushrooms, sliced
2 red peppers diced
1lb 14oz canned tomatoes
10floz sour cream
parsley

  • Oven to 275F
  • Cut beef into 2in cubes
  • Sweat onions & garlic
  • Season flour and coat beef, then brown
  • Add everything but sour cream and cook till meat is tender, about 1.5 hours.
  • Add sour cream at end, using some as a garnish.
